Overview

HIV-NAT is a premier HIV research unit operating under the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre, located in Bangkok. It is recognized as one of the leading research centers in Southeast Asia, focusing on the study and advancement of HIV care and treatment at a global standard.

Established in 1996, HIV-NAT is a collaborative initiative between the Kirby Institute for Infection and Immunity in Society (Australia), the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (Netherlands), and the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre. Its primary mission is to conduct world-class clinical research to develop and improve HIV treatment strategies for patients in Thailand and the wider region.

With over 25 years of experience, HIV-NAT has built a strong foundation in coordinating multi-center clinical trials and has played a vital role in shaping both national and international HIV research. The center is highly regarded for its expertise in antiretroviral drug development, long-term side effect studies, and clinical research on HIV disease progression.
