Book an appointmentDue to the sustained and effective achievements of the Thai Red Cross AIDS Program—recognized both nationally and internationally—the Thai Red Cross Society passed a resolution on March 17, 1998, to elevate the status of the program from a “special project” to a permanent entity, officially named the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre (TRCARC). This decision reflects a long-term commitment to addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Thailand.
The AIDS Research Centre plays a vital role in the development of knowledge, methodologies, and service systems related to HIV and AIDS—both from medical and social perspectives. Its work is guided by a strong understanding of Thailand’s economic and social context, using systematic research and pilot initiatives to explore practical, adaptable approaches for the country.
Beyond its national contributions, TRCARC also serves as a resource and knowledge-sharing hub for government bodies, private sector entities, and international organizations. It offers expertise, training, and strategic support to help build robust systems aimed at minimizing the impact of HIV and AIDS.
The center’s work also includes building and expanding collaborative networks at national and regional levels, encouraging knowledge exchange and co-developing effective prevention, treatment, and care models for people living with HIV.
The Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre is more than a medical institution—it is a catalyst for transformative change, dedicated to sustainably ending AIDS in Thailand through knowledge, understanding, and cross-sector collaboration.
